PRO FOODS has been featured yet again, this time in the popular Web Designer Magazine (Issue 188). In this 2 page spread, the team at Web Designer Magazine breaks down the creative strategy used in making PRO FOODS and how the development was executed.
Here are a couple of excerpts from the featured article:
"The PRO FOODS homepage is dominated by its large central image which blends with the backdrop. This creates a smooth experience that concentrates the viewers' focus on the star of the shot: the PRO ADE drink. A click of the left or right arrows calls up additional product information. This is the work of a pretty standard slider scenario seen on many sites. But it is the creative use of the slider and its integration that make it stand out here.
The image slider is an integrated component among the multi-layered element. First there is a repeating background that forms the base, then there is the typical image slider powered by JQuery. Each slide uses a series of images in both normal and hover states for the rollovers. Finally, the main focus - bottle, splashes, fruit etc - are individual transparent images."
"Inspiration: Identifying the target audience
US College sports - especially American football - are closely associated with a certain style of font, typically used for numbers on shirts. PRO FOODS uses a similar typeface which immediately suggests that its product is healthy, stimulating and gives users energy. To further enforce the point, a star - another common symbol of the sport - has also been included. In addition to the above, the use of splashes and droplets promotes the idea that the drink is fresh and thirst quenching."
